Rah-Rah-Rah!

cheerleading_pom_poms.jpgI am happy to report that the Fish have responded very well to my pep talk of a few days ago. And yes, that was a pep talk...if one considers obliterating any shred of self esteem the pitching staff has by comparing their efforts to a pile of excrement "pep."

Actually, the two-game, walk-off-win streak has had very little to do with any improvement to the pitching staff, but let's not split hairs here. Wins are wins. And while I would love for these late-inning/extra-inning rallies to be unnecessary, they are highly entertaining when the Marlins are the team pummeling each other at home plate when all is said and done.

Since my words of inspiration have been working so well to boost the performance of the team, I have decided to direct a few at Mark Hendrickson: *Ahem* Dear Mr. Hendrickson, you have been sucking real bad. I am beginning to dread your starts with the same trepidation I feel before a trip to the oral surgeon for a quadruple root canal when I know that my insurance doesn't cover novocaine. Please consider not pitching like a girlscout tonight, and give the Fish an actual chance to win this ballgame. Thank you.

In other news, HLD&S Gamenight is cancelled again this evening, as I will be at the ballpark. Probably spending most of the evening taking cover from the monsoon that is likely to pour itself directly over Dolphin Stadium as soon as the words "play ball" are uttered.

Go Fish.

Oooh part of me is jealous that you're going to be there, but part (most) of me wants nothing to do with Hendrickson. But it's the Nats, and he did well against them early on. Maybe it's the only team that makes him look like a decent MLB pitcher...

Yeeeah...I missed this one, sorry, was sleeping and only got to watch the last inning...and judging by the 9-6 score, I'm fairly sure that Hendrickson sucked...again.

Sorry you had to see that...and against the Nats, too. Was hoping for a good sweep here so we could retake that #1 spot.

Though, that does touch on a bright spot...who'da thunk we'd even be competing for the number 1 spot more then half way through the season (or, for that matter, we are still in the running for the Wild Card as well).

I'm not too worried though...I looked at the schedule, and of the upcoming matchups, we've got it fairly easy, I think, up to the All Star break. Hopefully the Phillies will go back to sucking and Atlanta will win that homestead in the next two games.

Did you throw those dead fish you were saving for Pinto last week at Hendrickson last night? God he is awful. JJ can't get back here fast enough....sorry you had to see that live.

I would just like to further comment (In case there isn't another blog done), TGfN.

A bit of a scare in one of the innings, but Nolasco has been looking very, very nice lately.
